Energy efficiency grants worth up to £6,750 are available to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based at commercial premises in Buckinghamshire.
Low Carbon Workspaces helps small to medium sized enterprises identify opportunities to reduce energy usage and provides grant funding to help pay for the installation of energy efficiency solutions in commercial premises.
Grants can fund projects that increase a business’s energy efficiency, such as:
- LED lighting and controls
- Heat-pumps and air-conditioning
- Smart heating and cooling controls
- Renewable energy technologies
- Double glazing, roof and wall insulation
- Voltage optimisation technology
- Energy efficient boilers
Implementing measures such as these can have an immediate impact on a business’s energy spend.
Daniel Cope, Low Carbon Workspaces Programme Manager, explains:
“We know that businesses and charities are keen to lower their energy bills but upfront costs often stand in the way. We have a dedicated and experienced team who can help identify suitable projects either over the phone or in person. Our job is to make it as easy and affordable as possible for businesses to identify and implement energy saving solutions and we provide a free energy efficiency guide and action plan template.
We welcome applications for a wide range of projects. The best thing for an organisation to do is to contact us to find out if their project is eligible for funding. As ever, the grants are proving a real hit, which means they may not last very long. Under the last Low Carbon Workspaces programme 35% of organisations provided with a grant reduced their energy consumption by 10%, and a lot of energy efficiency measures have the added benefits of reducing maintenance and replacement costs, and making workspaces more comfortable for staff. I recommend that organisations contact us soon to make sure they don’t miss out on funding.”
PLEASE NOTE: Buckinghamshire businesses that have previously received a grant from Low Carbon Workspaces can now ‘top-up’ by applying again for another grant, up to a combined maximum of £6,750 funding. For example: if a business previously received a £2,500 grant, it can now receive another grant of up to £2,500.
