A bit about us

We spend about £270m each year on a wide range of goods, services and works to meet our corporate objectives, delivering high quality cost effective services to people who live and work in Buckinghamshire whilst ensuring that the Council’s Strategic Plan Priorities are met. These priorities are:

  • Safeguarding our vulnerable
  • Creating opportunities and building self-reliance
  • Keeping Buckinghamshire thriving and attractive

  Working with the Council

The Council must comply with its own internal Contract rules (Contract Standing Orders) and with UK and European legislation contained in the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 when making purchasing decisions.

It is the Council’s policy to ensure procurement is managed at the most appropriate level in the organisation. Authority to make buying decisions is devolved as managers in each service area are best placed to understand needs and buy accordingly. Our tender opportunities are advertised on the Buckinghamshire Business Portal. If you are interested in these opportunities you will need to register on www.supplybucksbusiness.org.uk. Registration is easy and free and enables you to receive e-mail alerts about relevant opportunities as they arise. When you register please make sure that you select the relevant categories which reflect what your organisation can offer us.
