Productivity in Buckinghamshire

Buckinghamshire’s productivity is the 3rd highest among the 38 Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs), but Buckinghamshire’s productivity growth in 2016 failed to match that recorded across the country as a whole for a fifth successive year.

Destination of school leavers in Buckinghamshire

More than a quarter of Buckinghamshire’s school leavers go on to Russell Group universities after key stage 5 (after A levels or other level 3 qualification). This is the highest proportion recorded in any of England’s 38 Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs), more than double the national rate, and ten percentage points above 2nd placed Gloucestershire.

Buckinghamshire also has the highest share of school leavers going on to Oxbridge.

Claimant count

Buckinghamshire’s claimant count rose by 110 in January to stand at 2,975 or 0.9 per cent of working age residents, the 3rd lowest rate among the 38 Local Enterprise Partnerships and 4th lowest among England’s 27 county council areas.

There are now 1.8 openings per claimant in Buckinghamshire, compared to 0.7 across the UK.
