Have children who are looking for careers advice?

Bring them to the Bucks Skills Show this Saturday to meet more than 60 employers such as Sky, McAfee, Volkswagen, and the NHS.

Get the 2017 school year off to a great start and bring your teenagers along to the Bucks Skills Show this Saturday 14th October. Give them the opportunity to meet over 60 employers face-to-face and explore future careers options.

What is it? Buckinghamshire’s largest skills and careers event is an interactive experience for students led by local and international industries. The event takes place at The Gateway, Aylesbury, from 9.30am - 3pm. Entry is free.

Who’s it for? The event is perfect for young people aged 14 and over, and their parents or carers.

Who’s coming? Get career insights from employers from a range of sectors, including media and creative industries, retail, health, digital, engineering and science, hospitality and management, finance, the armed forces, the emergency services and many more.

The line-up of speakers includes:

  • Sky’s Head of Acquisitions (the person behind Game of Thrones and Modern Family)
  • a cyber-security expert from Oracle
  • former BBC weatherman John Hammond on careers in meteorology and TV journalism
  • a Dragon’s Den survivor who gained investment for his premium bar snacks brand
  • and many more on apprenticeships, the jobs of the future, digital effects and games design, social care and STEM
