Consultation on Education and Skills Strategy for Buckinghamshire

Buckinghamshire County Council is reviewing how it supports and works with schools and those who provide education and learning in Buckinghamshire so that they can develop an Education and Skills Strategy that sets out how they will support all children and young people to have the best opportunities in Buckinghamshire.

The council says it wants to ensure that:

  • There is a wide range of opportunities for our children and young people to give them flexibility and choice in both academic and skills areas to suit their individual aspirations for the future
  • The opportunities available will appeal to all, and that they provide young people with the skills to enter the world of work and support our communities to be vibrant and productive

They would like to know what you think is important to include in their plans for future of education and skills development in Buckinghamshire.

The consultation runs until October 24th.

Remember that on Saturday 14th October, the Bucks Skills Show presents an opportunity for young people 14 and over to learn about possible future careers.

European Commission survey on the food supply chain

The European Commission is seeking views from the food supply chain, in particular food producers, retailers, farmers, agricultural businesses, and those with an interest in these areas. The Commission is particularly interested in comments relating to:

  • Unfair trading practices (UTPs)
  • Market transparency
  • Producer cooperation
