It’s time to voice your opinion on local matters

Have your say on Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service’s Public Safety Plan; and the National Highways and Transport Public Satisfaction Survey.

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service’s Public Safety Plan

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service (BFRS) has recently opened a public consultation to gain feedback on its draft plan for the next five years – and it would really like to hear from you!

The Service’s Public Safety Plan identifies key challenges that it believes it will face between 2020 and 2025, such as such as changes to population, infrastructure and the technological environment.

The document then outlines how the organisation aims to adapt to the changing landscape of risk and demand, while meeting public and stakeholder expectations.

Head of Service Development for BFRS, Area Commander Calum Bell said: “We are aware that many of the challenges we face may have implications for our local businesses. We all need to take steps to adapt to these changing circumstances, and we have outlined our plans in this document.

“However we are keen to make sure that our thoughts and aims match those of the community we serve – both the residential and business community, as well as anyone who visits or travels through Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. We would therefore welcome your feedback on our plan, and the risks it identifies.”

The Public Safety Plan, and how to respond to the consultation, can be accessed here.

All feedback must be received before 10am Monday 18th November, when the public consultation period closes.

National Highways and Transport Public Satisfaction Survey

Earlier in the year, local people were asked for their views on Buckinghamshire’s highways and transport services – from the condition of roads and footpaths to the quality of cycling facilities. Their answers will be compared with the views of other members of the public across England and Scotland, thanks to the National Highways and Transport Public Satisfaction Survey.

The business community is also being asked to give their views and have the opportunity to respond to the survey via an online link. The link is below and Transport for Buckinghamshire hopes that businesses in Buckinghamshire will take the time to respond.

Buckinghamshire County Council is one of 111 local authorities to sign up to this standardised survey, which asks members of the public and businesses exactly the same questions, whether they live in Bedford, Bristol or Buckinghamshire.

The survey, which has been carried out for the tenth year running, is the largest collaboration between local authorities offering the opportunity to compare results, share in best practice and identify further opportunities to work together in the future.
