The LEADER Programme is in full swing, funding some great rural projects and supporting the rural economy. There is still funding left to hand out, but not for long!

The deadline to get a full application in is October 2018, so express an interest in a grant now so you can give yourself the time to get your application in.

LEADER success stories to inspire

• An arable farmer received a £50,000 grant to purchase a new drill that will help him expand operations and improve his business’s competitive advantage. Steve Herod of A1 Agricultural Contractors said: “The support we received from the LEADER team during the application process was excellent and their help made the whole process much easier than it otherwise would have been.”
• A forestry business received a £10,000 grant to invest in a forwarding trailer to expand its operations. Benjamin Manning of B.M.T.S Forestry said: “The LEADER funding was critical to this project. Without it, the trailer would not have been purchased.”
• A farmer with no previous catering or butchery experience was given the confidence to diversify thanks to a £16,000 grant from the LEADER Programme. Rob Pratt of Marbled Meats said: “The LEADER team were there every step of the way with me. It felt like they were on my side and wanted me to get the funding.”
