Read the latest - and final - ‘Cyber Prepare and Protect’ newsletter from the Thames Valley Police Cyber Protect Team, which includes all the latest resources and advice from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

The edition is the last to be produced by the Thames Valley Police Cyber Protect Team, with information below on how to sign up for monthly cyber security newsletters from the National Cyber Security Centre and the South East Cyber Resilience Centre (SECRC):

The cost of cyber security breaches

The Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2021, the results of which can be seen here, found that “where businesses have faced breaches with material outcomes, the average (mean) cost of all the cyber security breaches these businesses have experienced in the past 12 months is estimated to be £8,460.” And that “overall costs recorded for businesses and charities follow a similar pattern”.

Cyber security presentations

The Thames Valley Police Cyber Crime Unit, which is now managed by the South East Regional Crime Unit (SEROCU), is able to provide both in-person or online Cyber Security awareness presentations to any organisations across the Thames Valley area. Learn more about this here >
