A bit about us

Based largely in a medieval hall house, Amersham Museum explores life in the town’s past through intriguing objects and local stories. Our public programmes include changing exhibitions, guided walks, activity and learning sessions for visitors of all ages. We are the custodians of two historic buildings, a herb garden, and a collection of around 12,000 items relating to the history of the local area.

We are an independent museum and registered charity, run almost entirely by volunteers. We do not receive funding from local or central government. Donations and grants help support the running costs of the museum and the creation of special projects with community groups, older people and schools.
