Events are hosted by Buckinghamshire Business First, our invested members, and partner organisations, and are a great way to share skills and expertise, get answers to business questions, build relationships and make quality contacts.

We want to make your event a success and will support the promotion and management of your event.

We are flexible – so if you have an idea for an event that doesn’t fit into the usual format described below, speak to a member of the team and we will work with you to see how we can support the event.

There are two types of events that you can host as part of invested membership: Power Hours and 'Focus On' events.

Power Hours

• Format: Power Hours are hosted online, a proven way to attract businesses who would not usually travel to an event, with the added benefit of reducing travel costs and carbon emissions.
• Timings: As the name suggests, this is a short, sharp 60-minute session.
• Capacity: There is no limit on the number of people who can join an online event, although we would suggest limiting it to a maximum of around 20 - 30 if you are looking to interact with the group during the session.
• Costs: There are no costs for you to host a Power Hour as this is a perk of invested membership. 
• Regularity: Members can run an unlimited number of online events - after consultation with Buckinghamshire Business First. If you choose to hold your events face-to-face, this will be limited to a total of 4 events per year.
• Bookings: Buckinghamshire Business First will take bookings for these events.
• On the day: Event support will be provided within the online events platform. A member of our team will also do a short introduction at all Power Hours.
• After the event: Make the most of your new connections by following up with them by phone and email. We will share the contact details with you.

'Focus On' events

• Venue: Members who would like to run a face-to-face event can do so, but will be responsible for sourcing and booking the venue and refreshments. Meeting room space is available at both the Missenden and Buckingham Hubs. You can check capacity and availability here. Alternatively, members can host their event at their own premises.
• Timings: The duration of the workshop is usually 90 minutes (e.g. 9am – 10.30am), but we are happy to look at alternative timings.
• Capacity: Face-to-face event capacity is dependent upon the selected venue and nature of the event itself.
• Costs: There are no costs for you to host a 'Focus On' event as this is a perk of invested membership.
• Regularity: Members can run an unlimited number of online events - after consultation with Buckinghamshire Business First. If you choose to hold your events face-to-face, this will be limited to a total of 4 events per year.
• Bookings: Buckinghamshire Business First will take bookings for these events.
• On the day: For face-to-face events, we will provide support for AV as required, as well as delegate badges. A member of our team will also do a short introduction at all events.
• After the event: Make the most of your new connections by following up with them by phone and email. We will share the contact details with you.

• Support to create your ‘Top Tips’ blog which will offer further benefit for our members.

• Facilitating a 'Collaboration Circle' to include those who joined the event.
