Volunteers’ Week: saying thank you

This week, hundreds of Buckinghamshire charities and voluntary groups are taking part in Volunteers’ Week to say thank you to their volunteers who have helped deliver key services to local communities in the past year – both in roles specific to the pandemic as well as non-pandemic support vital to our communities.

The time and skills given by their volunteers have enabled them to extend the breadth and depth of their activities, but there is now a need for more volunteers to step forward into a wide variety of roles.

There really is something for everyone – volunteering comes in all shapes and sizes; some roles require regular commitment while others are project based or involve short-term tasks (this is sometimes known as ‘bite-size volunteering’).

Put your skills to good use, or improve a skill, by volunteering

Volunteering can fit in around your lifestyle, commitments and interests – perhaps you have a professional skill that you could give for free to a charity or community group? Or maybe you would like to develop a new skill or gain experience to advance your career?
