Disposal of old computer monitors??

Can anyone offer advice on the disposal of some old computer monitors - about 20 of them.  I can't believe they will be of any use to anyone.  I'm aware that we have some environmental responsibilities to ensure they are appropriately disposed of.  Anyone have any ideas???

Hi - Did you manage to resolve this?? If not let me know, I'm an environmental consultant so may be able to help. Good advice from Ian, there are some other options as well. Cheers, Phil Clarke, Consciam Limited.

Hi, if you have 20 monitors then I assume you are a business. A long shot is a charity donation, but as you suggest old monitors are not that much in demand. Try this site for some links - http://itforcharities.co.uk/it-services/recycled-pcs/

If this fails then you will need to dispose of in accordance with WEEE directives. Since this is a commercial operation I would suggest a google and there are many who will collect, charge and certificate for you.

I would be interested in knowing about the company used for this. We have 4 or 5 computers and laptops that we no longer need.

Thanks Phil. We found someone to dispose of them appropriately. the company in question passes quite a lot of stock to developing countries and charities so it was a good solution. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
