Looking for a small business Broker

I have a small franchise business that I am looking to sell and someone suggested I use a business broker. However, all the brokers that I have succeeded in finding on the internet are wanting to charge a fee equal to the total value of my business.

The business is a magazine that targets families and would suit someone with their on young family as it can be worked round school hours and term times.

Can anyone recommend someone that charges a flat fee of no more than £1000, who they would be happy to recommend please?

Thank you for your help.

Hi Sue,

A couple of thoughts for you:
- one suggestion is to invest in maximising the value of the business before you sell, so that you get the return you deserve, even after any sellers fees. Clearly this depends on the speed and reasons for wanting to sell.
- alternatively, have you considered marketing the opportunity directly yourself ? - as an alternative to a traditional employed 'job' i.e. advertise on Indeed.co.uk, on Mumsnet?

Happy to have an exploratory, brainstorming conversation if you'd like? Just give me a call...

Hi Sue
Attended the National Entrepreneurs Circle event in Birmingham this weekend. A company BCMS presented there and they seem to know their stuff. Explore their website www.bcms.co.uk/meet and set up a meeting with them.
Kind regards
