Workplace Needs Assessments for employees with SEN needs

Hello,

I am a local dyslexia specialist, providing tuition and diagnostic assessments for students aged 8-18.

I am trying to understand if there is a demand for Workplace Needs Assessments for employees who have a specific learning disability. I am considering completing additional training to become a Workplace Needs Assessor.

If, of course, there is a market for it locally.

A workplace needs assessment, would set out measures and provisions to support an employee and increase their retention. It would also help businesses follow the Equalities Act.

  • How do you currently support employees or apprentices with dyslexia?
  • Have you ever commissioned a workplace needs assessment for an employee or apprentice?
  • Who normally arranges and pays for the assessment?
  • Do you use an external assessor, an in-house specialist or a national provider?
  • Have you experienced any difficulties accessing suitable assessments, such as waiting times, cost or availability?

I would be grateful for a few conversations with fellow members along the lines I've outlined above.

Many thanks.
