Defending against Sexual Harassment at work - training (1 Oct 26)

Defending against Sexual Harassment at work - training (1 Oct 26)

By law, all employers must take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of their workers. This came into effect on 26 October 2024.

Creating a positive, respectful and safe workplace culture is a great way to reduce the likelihood of issues arising but doesn't remove the risk entirely. As a manager, it's vital for you to specifically understand what sexual harassment looks like, how to prevent it, and how to take action if it happens. That’s where this workshop can help. We’ll talk through:

  • How sexual harassment is defined and what the law says about it
  • What sexual harassment looks like in practice and how to spot issues early
  • What the risk factors are and how to assess the risks to your own staff
  • Common preventative measures and ideas for protecting your staff
  • How to deal with reported issues appropriately

It’s a practical workshop and you’ll not just gain knowledge, but will come out of it with the following documents adapted for use within your own organisation:

  • Policy for the prevention of sexual harassment
  • Sexual harassment risk assessment
  • Action plan for additional steps to prevent sexual harassment
  • Process for dealing with concerns informally
  • Sexual harassment reporting and investigation procedure

We’ll then meet with you on a one-to-one basis to support you to finalise the documents for your context and help you communicate them to your team. This isn’t just a training course - it’s a way for you to learn while also getting the practical work done to protect your staff from sexual harassment and protect your organisation from claims.
