You may be aware that HMRC are seeking views on standardising electronic invoicing and increasing its adoption across UK businesses and the public sector.
E-invoicing is the digital exchange of invoice information directly between buyers’ and suppliers’ financial systems, even if these systems are different. The outcome is an invoice which is automatically written into the buyer’s financial system without manual processing, automating the exchange of invoices between buyers and suppliers.
While there is potential for an uptake in e-invoicing to support economic growth, business productivity and cashflow, as well as reduce errors in tax returns, HMRC are seeking views from businesses of all sizes – whether they use e-invoicing or not – in the hopes that this wide range of views will help support the development of a UK approach.
We’ll hear from experts, such as HMRC’s e-invoicing policy and external stakeholder lead Rachel Stirrat, who will outline what e-invoicing is, why these changes are happening now, and how they will impact your business. It’s important to us that you stay as informed as possible so you are able to make the best decisions that fit your business needs.
Our roundtable will aim to gather your views and supply them to HMRC so you can be sure that your input is valued and heard, and that your contributions will make a difference to future policy development.
