Join tourism and hospitality business leaders in Buckinghamshire at this series of tourism and hospitality masterclasses brought to you through a partnership of Visit Buckinghamshire, Be The Business and Buckinghamshire Business First. 

This tourism and hospitality masterclass series will bring together Buckinghamshire business leaders to learn, share and collaborate with each other.

Led by hospitality strategist Jon Yantin of Stake Concepts, the day will be a mixture of presentations and practical group work that will help you refocus your people and team management strategy.

What will be covered?

The afternoon will feature a case study session that will reveal how effective people and team management can make the difference in the performance of your business. Throughout the day you will work in groups to reflect on what you’ve heard, and work on solutions to real challenges you may be facing.

Buckinghamshire's tourism and hospitality business owners, leaders, managing directors, general managers and senior managers motivated to improve business performance through learning, sharing and collaborating.

Jon Yantin, Stake Concepts
Jon is a senior hospitality professional with over 25 years’ experience across hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs and casinos. Having worked in corporate, entrepreneurial and NASDAQ listed organisations, Jon brings a wealth of sector experience, specialising in business planning, fundraising, site selection, conceptualisation, licensing, operations, development and launch alongside strong commercial acumen and in-depth operational understanding.

Today Jon operates Stake Concepts, a boutique advisory firm and is currently advising a range of hotel developers and operators across the UK and Europe.

Chloe Combi, Writer, Speaker, Futurist, Problem Solver
Chloe Combi is a writer, speaker, consultant and generational expert. She has written for all the major publications in the UK and has a column in Vice magazine on youth issues. Her book Generation Z was a critical success and the research has become invaluable to global brands and companies including Porsche, the UN, Barclays, ECB, Coca-Cola and many more. She is currently writing two more books, and developing two television series. She speaks around the world on her research, helping companies to understand and future-proof in a rapidly changing world and has just returned from the USA where she was advising on a presidential campaign. 

Matthew Thomson, Social Entrepreneur
Chief Executive of Cornwall Food Foundation and its restaurant Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall until December 2019, Matthew is a well-known champion of hospitality, skills-training, productivity and sustainability.  He has over 20 years’ experience of working in a range of catering and hospitality settings including a Soho restaurant and a Mayfair pub, sometimes alongside government and social enterprise roles where he has helped shape national and regional strategies and investments.

Lucy Dowson began her travel industry career at Trailfinders in 1996 following a year’s marketing and sales placement with British Airways. In 1999 she joined Dnata (later Emirates Holidays) in a sales role before a position selling the Fairmont Dubai to the UK corporate market. This corporate experience served her well during her 3 years at The Langham London where she focussed on both corporate meetings and events sales and transient accounts. Lucy then spent 11 years in a number of sales, marketing and administrative roles at De Vere Venues Latimer Place, before transferring her skills in 2017 to Destination Marketing and accepting the role as Tourism Development Manager for Visit Buckinghamshire and The Chilterns.
