Vache Baroque presents its largest Summer Festival to date.
Our flagship production this year is The Tempest: A Semi-Opera, created in collaboration with Theatre Company Out of Chaos. The stunning Vache Estate will be transformed into a magical lakeside theatre, with the 17th-century country house becoming part of the set itself. Shakespeare’s most musical play will be paired with baroque works that echo and enhance the drama of the text, creating an immersive theatrical experience in an extraordinary setting. Dates of The Tempest are 29/30 August and 5/6 September
Opening the festival on 28th August is our Jazz Evening. Set beside the lake with a cocktail bar, it promises the perfect summer evening: exceptional jazz musicians performing in one of the most beautiful settings imaginable.
Water Music will be our largest concert programme to date. Taking place on the 4th September Inspired by the many themes and moods of water, the programme will bring together some of the finest musical talent alongside a full baroque ensemble, complemented by specially created recordings from BAFTA award-winning sound recordist Chris Watson, long-time collaborator of Sir David Attenborough.
Splash!, our family and relaxed performance this year, takes inspiration from themes explored in Water Music. Beginning at 11am Sunday 6 September, with the grounds opening from 10am, families are invited to enjoy the performance and stay afterwards for a post-show picnic in the beautiful surroundings.
This year’s festival truly offers something for everyone — from jazz, opera and theatre to orchestral music and family experiences.
We can’t wait to welcome you to Vache Baroque’s Summer Festival.
