Responsibilities
Foster with Bucks is looking for compassionate, resilient people who can offer a stable and loving home to children and young people with complex needs.
Therapeutic fostering provides children who may be ready to move from residential care or may not be suited to standard foster care, and would benefit from the stability of a family home, with the care, consistency and support they need to thrive.
This is not a traditional job advert. It is an opportunity to make a lasting difference to a child’s life while receiving advanced training, ongoing dedicated support and enhanced financial allowances of up to £56,000 a year.
About the Role
- Enhanced financial allowances of up to £56,000 a year to recognise the high level of care provided.
- Advanced therapeutic training to help you understand and respond to children’s needs with confidence.
- 24/7 tailored support from dedicated fostering and children’s services teams.
Person Specification
Essential:
You could become a therapeutic foster carer to support a specialist placement if:
- You have a spare bedroom in your home.
- At least one foster carer in the household can be home full-time.
You do not need to have fostered before. We would like to hear from people who have patience, empathy, resilience and the ability to provide a calm, consistent home environment.
If you have the space in your heart and home to change the life of a child who needs stability, care and understanding, we would love to hear from you.
Desirable:
You may have experience in caring, education, youth work, health, social care, emergency services or simply a strong commitment to supporting children and young people.
This is not essential but may help you provide the level of care for children and young people with complex needs.
