We are a 100% voluntary-run heritage railway operating steam & diesel services between Princes Risborough and Chinnor.
The volunteers at the Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway Association have achieved one of their major goals of operating heritage-steam and vintage-diesel hauled train services services between Chinnor and a reconstructed Platform 4 at Princes Risborough station.
From mid August 2018 the cross-platform interchange enabled the wholly volunteer-run line to be one of the nearest connected steam heritage railways to London. The interchange facilities with mainline trains create new tourism opportunities in this part of the County and over the border into Oxfordshire.
In 2013 the All Party Parliamentary Report into Heritage Railways concluded that for every £1 spent at an heritage line the local economy benefited by £2.70 - monies that will be spent by visitors to the railway also purchasing from local shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, accommodation etc, as part of their visit to the local area.
The line is 100% volunteer-run and to meet these aims it is on a recruiting drive to enlist the help of local residents in running what is set to become an ever more popular heritage attraction.
