From Waste to Resource. Generating Green Electricity and reducing waste to landfill.
FCC Environment operates the Greatmoor Energy from Waste facility as part of a long term partnership with Buckinghamshire Council.
The Greatmoor EfW facility started construction in September 2013 and was completed in June 2016. The facility treats up to 330,000 tonnes of residual (non-recyclable) waste, diverting it from landfill and generating 26MW/h of electricity in the process.
Waste arriving at Greatmoor comes from High Heavens Transfer Station and the Aylesbury Vale Area and other Local Authorities.
The new, 2.5 mile long, site access road was completed in 2014, diverting all waste deliveries away from the local village of Calvert Green.
The facility uses proven robust technology and is the 4th of 5 EfWs in the FCC Environment UK portfolio. It includes state of the art gas cleaning and emissions monitoring systems.
