Handwoven fine art which elevates mindful living
Saskia Saunders creates large scale handwoven artworks for those who seek a natural sanctuary in their lives. Her work explores the tranquillity, wellbeing and freedom felt when spending time in woodlands and forests.
Using plant-based materials such as paper, hemp and linen, she utilises the structural qualities of the yarns to craft minimal, textural pieces.
By bringing the ancient craft of weaving into contemporary form, she is addressing our way of life in the Anthropocene.
Saskia’s work shares a vision of striving for a positive future for ourselves and our world, by living more sustainably, in harmony with nature.
Saskia primarily works to private commission for clients and also exhibits her work worldwide with galleries such as Amelie in Paris and Contemporary Crafts Centre in Hong Kong. She lives and works in Buckinghamshire, England.
