Woodrow is an outdoor learning & leisure centre in Amersham, providing opportunities for young people and serving our community since 1946.
We deliver transformative outdoor learning and leisure experiences for young people that takes them outside of their comfort zones, challenges them, and shows them they can achieve things they didn't believe they could. We provide residential experiences for schools and groups in our 136 bed Manor House, host adventrue filled day visits and holiday camps, teach swimming in our Swim School, and hire our leisure facilities – swimming pool, multi-purpose sports hall, 3G floodlit astro turf pitch, off-road cycle circuit - to local community groups and businesses.
Fun fact: The very first Duke of Edinburgh test expedition set off from Woodrow High House in February 1957. His Royal Highness, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward, continues his father’s legacy in this area, and royal patronage of London Youth since 1947.
