Do you need to protect and utilise your intellectual property?

Check out the time-limited IP support available through our Growth Programme; book onto a free workshop run by The Intellectual Property Office; learn what happens to your IP after the UK-EU transition period ends on January 1st 2021.

Businesses create and use IP all the time, perhaps without realising it. Whether it is the name of your company, branded products, website or even marketing materials, the value of IP can far outweigh the value of your physical assets.

Get a free intellectual property review

For a limited period, we are able to offer a unique and additional aspect to our highly successful Growth Programme.

This additional feature is an integrated business and intellectual property review and support for start-up business owners within their first 12 months, where they have a:

  • technical or creative concept
  • product or service offering

This support will provide a brief report outlining best practice guidance in relation to the commercial options available to them, and benefit the start-up business in their development and growth plans.

This is an ERDF-funded programme, so there is no cost for this support. In signing up to this support, business owners would also be able to attend up to two one-day Masterclasses on the critical subjects of finance and investment, and a Growth Masterclass delivered by Cranfield School of Management.

Focus on your intellectual property at the Buckinghamshire Business Festival

Intellectual property (IP) is something that every business needs to be aware of:

  • What IP do you own?
  • Do you own it automatically or do you need to apply for it?
  • What are the different types of IP?

As part of the Buckinghamshire Business Festival, the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) is running a free event that will give participants a good understanding of trademarks, patents, copyright and designs, offering a good overview of intellectual property and how it can impact on businesses.

This highly interactive workshop will allow those attending to debate a series of scenarios in which intellectual property is crucial to a business. Speakers from the Intellectual Property Office will then take the audience through the answers to the problem.

The Intellectual Property Office helps businesses, innovators and entrepreneurs understand how IP can create value from their ideas, turning inspiration into sustainable business success.

Intellectual property and leaving the EU – what’s changing?

The UK government recently announced that the Intellectual Property Office will convert 1.4 million EU trademarks and 700,000 EU designs to comparable UK rights at the end of the UK-EU transition period on January 1st 2021.

The IP system is unchanged until then.
