Age UK Buckinghamshire and Action4Youth work with people at different stages of life, but both are committed to their support. Can you help?
Philanthropic Giving
A message from Age UK Buckinghamshire:
During 2018, Age UK Buckinghamshire supported over 12,000 older people in many different ways. For some this included providing practical solutions such as help from our welfare benefits team, while others required trustworthy information and signposting to the most appropriate help.
We support an increasing number of older people and their families to address difficult and complex issues relating to loneliness, poverty and hardship, mental health and dementia.
As a small local charity, we want to continue to provide this essential support for generations to come, right across Buckinghamshire. To achieve this ambition, we need the help of the people and businesses in Buckinghamshire who want to support older people in their local community by helping them stay independent and reducing loneliness.
This is why we are asking for your help through Philanthropic Giving.
What is Philanthropic Giving?
Philanthropic Givers are altruistic people who want to make a significant impact on the lives of the most vulnerable people in society by providing financial support and partnership to achieve change.
How you can help
We are actively seeking to develop partnerships and build relationships with people who share our vision. We hope you will join us in helping older people in Buckinghamshire maintain independence and wellbeing, despite unpredictable events such as falls, a bereavement and deteriorating health.
Bernadette Ashcroft, Interim CEO of Age UK Buckinghamshire, said: “I would be personally delighted to hear from any individual or local business who is inspired by our work and would be interested to connect with us and help support us so that we can in turn change the lives of older people in Buckinghamshire. Please contact me to discuss ideas or to receive further information. Let’s help older people in Buckinghamshire, together.”

Help to invest in the future potential of young people in Buckinghamshire
A message from Action4Youth:
Action4Youth is Buckinghamshire’s charity for young people. We work with around 25,000 young people a year of all abilities and disabilities, from across the county.
Our aim is to improve lives by creating opportunities for all young people to discover their own strengths and potential - learning what they can achieve rather than what they can’t, and creating better life chances.
Action4Youth programmes help equip young people better for life and for work, helping build self-confidence and esteem, teamwork and communication skills and key soft skills around employability critical for their future. Our programmes have a huge impact on the future attitudes of all these young people, not only contributing to stronger community cohesion but also broadening horizons and building greater awareness of the opportunities available to them in wider society.
We are looking for corporate supporters, volunteers and individuals or teams who will raise sponsorship funds to help us reach and impact more young people and invest in the futures of the young people of Bucks, who are the future of our local community and workforce.
Why work with us?
We’re local
We work with young people right across the county from Buckingham to High Wycombe. If you, your business and your employees live and work in Buckinghamshire, we are your local charity.
We have excellent reach
We work with up to 25,000 young people every year and have an excellent potential reach to their wider families across the county. These are your future employees and your customers.
We have a strong profile: We are the leading Youth charity in the region, the voice of young people from the area on the national stage and through our public exposure and a profile that is increasingly growing and significant, the go–to point for influencers and investors in young people. A partnership with Action4Youth provides a valuable, local connection to the community.
We make a difference
Our programmes make a difference to young lives. They improve engagement, attendance and academic performance. Working together will inspire your employees, customers and stakeholders and help us continue to develop inspiring young people.
We would love to explore more with you but in the meantime could you consider taking part in an event?
Why not ride the Chilterns’ upcoming cycling event and fundraise for Action4Youth? L’Etape UK is the UK’s official Tour de France sportive and takes place on July 14th.
You can enter teams of cyclists and even compete in the ‘Corporate Clash’ against other companies across three professionally designed routes through the Chiltern Hills.
If you are interested, please get in touch. We have a range of fundraising and sponsorship ideas that we can share.
