There were a record 14.7m entries and exits from Buckinghamshire’s stations in 2016/17. Usage of Buckinghamshire’s stations grew 1.8 per cent over the previous year, well above the 0.4 per cent recorded across the country as a whole.
High Wycombe was again the county’s most commonly used station with 2.91m entries and exits to move into the 200 busiest stations in the UK, ahead of Amersham (1.96m), Beaconsfield (1.60m), Gerrards Cross (1.49m) and Aylesbury (1.18m). All but six of Buckinghamshire’s 23 stations saw increased usage, with Denham Golf Club’s growth of 32.5 per cent making it the county’s fastest growing station, ahead of Little Kimble and Cheddington (both 7.5), Haddenham & Thame Parkway (5.6) and Taplow (5.6). High Wycombe saw the largest absolute rise, an increase of 96,528 (3.4 per cent), ahead of Haddenham & Thame Parkway (45,246) and Beaconsfield (27,504). Marlow is the only one of Buckinghamshire’s 23 stations to have seen a decline in usage in each of the last two years.

Since 2012/13, entries and exits at Buckinghamshire’s stations have risen by 1.56m (11.9 per cent), led by the additional 436,602 entries and exits at High Wycombe. Other stations seeing large increases include: Gerrards Cross (215,742), Haddenham & Thame Parkway (173,586), Beaconsfield (157,832) and Chalfont & Latimer (129,278). The highest rate of increase has been the 107.1 per cent rise at Aylesbury Vale Parkway, ahead of Denham Golf Club (25.8), Haddenham & Thame (25.7), Iver (23.6) and Chalfont & Latimer (18.4).
