Which resources are available for CIC fundraising?

I am setting up a CIC, and my (fundraising) action plan is currently as follows. Please advise which person/event  can help me improve it:

1) apply for a CIC
(or covert my shell limited company into a CIC)

2) become an https://www.thefsi.org/ member, and then secure support from their Advice Hub, and attend their London "developing fundraising strategy" training course (4th/5th feb 2020, £20-30/day)

3) meanwhile, build case for support and plan a fundraising campaign:

- read wesbite https://www.bhopal.net/take-action/skills-resources-toolbox/how-to-plan-your-campaign

- buy and read https://cygresearch.com/product/donor-centered-fundraising-new-edition/

- read website https://communityinterestcompanies.blog.gov.uk/2017/10/19/thinking-of-applying-for-funding-some-tips-and-guidance-to-give-you-the-maximum-chance-of-success/

- Budget for 10% donor conversion, 10% of ask from those that convert

- register to fundraise from the USA e.g. via Chapel & York Limited

4) plan to fundraise primarily for myself but also to advise/disrupt/accelerate aligned initiatives for free (improves my skills and serves the wider mission), using effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, scalability and transparency as metrics

5) buy a fundraising database

6) improve  certification/regulation

7) buy fundraising campaign direction advisory (£100/hr+)

Hi I would be happy to speak to you or meet with you to discuss your plans. You can also find sources of grant funding via the Bucks Funding search database on our website https://communityimpactbucks.org.uk/funding/. I assume that you will be setting up as a CIC limited by guarantee as if you set up limited by shares you may find that funders are unwilling to fund you e.g. https://www.tnlcommunityfund.org.uk/funding/programmes/national-lottery-awards-for-all-england#section-2.

Please get in touch if you would like to helen.cracknell@communityimpactbucks.org.uk or 01844 348828

Best regards
Helen

Hi, first I would suggest asking Community Impact Bucks for assistance, they have experience in this area. Then if you search our Members Directory there are consultants who assist. Try searching Social Enterprise.
