Employment law and the 'gig' economy: how does it affect your business?

Employment law and the 'gig' economy: how does it affect your business?

A Member to Member Workshop hosted by James Simpson, Employment Lawyer from Blaser Mills

The 'gig' economy is an increasingly used phrase that refers to the use of casual workers, zero-hours contracts and self-employed contractors. This workshop will look at the implications and opportunities for employers who employ or engage workers on this basis or are considering this as an option.

Who is this event aimed at?

Business owners, senior executives and senior HR professionals, particularly those who employ people using flexible working models.

How will members benefit from attending?

Members will learn how recent case law and legislation has affected the status of workers and their various employment rights. They will also be introduced to new proposals being considered by the Government to provide clarity and tighten up the abuse of these rights by employers.

What knowledge will members take away with them?

Members will obtain a good overview on UK and EU Law and practice surrounding the status and rights of different types of workers, as well as taxation and the looming consequences of Brexit.
