This free webinar will help businesses by offering suggestions and recommendations on what to do, why, and what benefits the principles of Product Safety measures can have for your business.

The course explains how a more proactive approach to product safety is hugely beneficial when preventing unsafe products from reaching the market in the first place.

Who is this course suitable for?

Although primarily aimed at small businesses to understand safety requirements to ensure that products are safe for consumers, any business that sells non-food products online will benefit from the course.

Sessions will be delivered by:

Phil LeShirley: Senior Trading Standards Specialist, whose role is developing and maintaining Primary Authority Partnerships with businesses for Buckinghamshire and Surrey Trading Standards.  He manages some of their largest partnerships including Shell UK, Toyota GB and Coca-Cola EuroPacific Partners Ltd.

Phil has significant expertise in the areas of electrical equipment, furniture, cosmetics, toys, personal protective equipment, machinery, children's products, explosives and general product safety.

Once completed, attendees will understand:

Nobody wants to sell unsafe products, but it can be a very challenging knowing what to do to ensure products sold are safe. 

  • Are the rules different for manufacturers and sellers of goods? 
  • What are the rules if you are just making and selling crafts as a hobby? 

This course provides all the answers in a clear, practical way.  We understand the journey you are on, and have the experience to be able to help you get to where you need to be.  At the end of the session there will be individual advice/feedback for any business that requests it, and clear signposting for all will give attendees a clear understanding of what to do next.
