Tech Instructor Vacancy (part-time)

Inspire young children in South Bucks through tech! Teach coding, robotics, and more. Must have transport & classroom teaching experience.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, pre-prepared tech lessons (coding, robotics, 3D design, etc.) to primary school students.
  • Manage classroom of up to 15 students.
  • Ensure sessions are fun, interactive, and educational.
  • Maintain attendance, safeguarding and manage student pickups at the end of classes.
  • Inspire and encourage kids to explore technology creatively.

Requirements:

  • Must have own transport (essential for travel to schools/venues).
  • Experience teaching in a classroom setting.
  • Confident in working with children and building strong rapport with students and parents
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Punctual, reliable, and passionate about teaching tech to kids.

Person Specification

Essential:

Essential Skills:

  • Classroom Management: Ability to manage a group of up to 15 primary school children in an engaging and controlled environment.
  • Teaching Experience: Previous experience in a classroom setting, especially with primary-aged children (7–12 years old).
  • Own Transport: Essential for travel to schools and community venues.
  • Safeguarding Knowledge:
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to build rapport with children, parents, and staff.

Reliability & Punctuality: Dependable in terms of attendance and meeting deadlines.

Passion for Tech & Teaching: Enthusiasm for teaching coding, robotics, digital arts, and other creative technologies to children.

Desirable:

  • Tech Knowledge: Familiarity with coding, robotics, 3D design, or digital arts or a willingness to learn.
  • Problem Solving & Creativity: Ability to encourage children to think creatively and approach problems with a tech-oriented mindset.
  • Flexibility: Comfortable with working various hours -afterschool, breakfast clubs, holiday clubs.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work with other staff and instructors to enhance the learning experience.
  • Experience with Child Safeguarding: Knowledge or experience in child safeguarding practices
  • DBS preferable
