Buckinghamshire Council is conducting its annual budget spending review and has opened up a consultation for people to share their thoughts on what the spending priorities should be for the 2026-27 budget.
The council has identified four priority areas, including 'Opportunity and aspiration for all', which is the area that covers the economy, supporting local businesses, attracting investment, skills, employment, education, investing in young people, and helping residents of all ages to succeed.
Why businesses need to respond to the consultation
It’s vital that Buckinghamshire’s business leaders have their say on how tax is spent locally, especially when it comes to the economic development budget.
This funding directly supports initiatives that drive growth, attract investment, and develop the skills pipeline essential to the county’s future.
By engaging in consultations, businesses help shape priorities that reflect real-world needs, ensuring public spending delivers maximum value for the local economy.
