Cyber security concerns for businesses, but 1 in 3 not taking protective action

The latest Buckinghamshire Business Barometer survey shows a level of concern about cyber security that isn’t matched by businesses taking action to mitigate threats.

What did the survey results reveal?

The latest survey covered the final quarter of 2021 and asked businesses how concerned they are about the possibility of a cyber-attack affecting their business. The majority of businesses (67%) that responded to the survey are somewhat concerned, while 11% said they are very concerned.

However, 30% of businesses haven’t implemented any security measures to protect their IT systems. Furthermore, just 17% of businesses plan to implement more security measures in the future.

One in ten (11%) businesses said they were not sure whether they had implemented any security measures, suggesting a gap in the awareness of security measures that are recommended to protect IT systems.
