Do you have a ‘People Plan?’ What we learned at the latest Business Leaders’ Dinner

Hartwell House Hotel & Spa was the setting for the latest gathering of Buckinghamshire’s business leaders and stakeholders in early February.

Amid the networking and relationship-building going on throughout the evening, there was an overriding theme spoken about that is of great importance to every business in Buckinghamshire: skills and recruitment.

Our after-dinner speaker, Sally White, Co-founder and Director of award-winning SYLO Beyond HR explained why businesses need a ‘People Plan’ and how to go about it.

Sally spoke about skills gaps, retaining staff and investing in their development, planning for recruitment, and the importance of considering the needs of different generations, including what different people look for in a prospective employer and where they search for job vacancies.

You can view Sally’s presentation slides here and our Business Support Team can provide further information and support if any of these themes resonate with you. Get in touch via 01494 927130 or BusinessSupport@bbf.uk.com.

There’s a huge focus on skills right now – join in!

At the end of last year, Buckinghamshire Business First was selected by the Department for Education to lead the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) for Buckinghamshire to better understand the local skills shortages that are felt by employers across the county.
