Free development programme to upskill businesses

SMEs from across the HS2 route are invited to join a free Virtual Enterprise Academy to upskill themselves and gain the tools necessary to work on projects like HS2.

SCS Railways are looking for SMEs from across the whole of the HS2 route to join their upcoming free Virtual Enterprise Academy. The free academy looks to upskill up to 150 businesses, giving them the tools to work on projects like HS2. Several participants on a similar programme last year went on to secure contracts on the project.

Overview of the Virtual Enterprise Academy:

  • Free learning and development programme to upskill the Construction industry and stimulate supply chain development
  • Increase supplier performance
  • Suppliers will learn about key requirements which will help win future work, and they will have the ability to support future infrastructure projects
  • Creating a partnering ecosystem

The Academy will run from mid-April to mid-June, with modules covering topics including HR, health and safety, social value, carbon management innovation, the environment, risk management, finance and commercial awareness. 

Eligibility criteria

In order to take part, the following criteria must be met:

  • A turnover of £1 million for 2019/2020
  • A core business offering that aligns with the construction industry 
  • An ability to demonstrate why you would like to take part in the Academy
