A women-powered business has launched a new tech platform for the construction industry during Women in Construction Week, spotlighting both innovation and female leadership in the sector.
The Proofbuilder is a practical case study creation tool designed specifically for construction companies and builders. It helps firms turn completed projects into clear, SEO-optimised structured case studies that can be used on websites, in tenders and across sales materials.
The platform was vibe-coded by the women behind marketing agency The Polka, after years of working with construction businesses and seeing the same challenge: exceptional projects that were never properly written up or used to win new work.
“Construction firms are delivering outstanding projects, but they’re often too busy running sites to document them,” says the founder, Carys Dorritt. “We built The Proofbuilder to make it easy for builders to showcase their work professionally - without needing to be marketers.”
The Polka is a Partner Member of Buckinghamshire Business First (BBF) and has engaged with a lot of BBF's support in recent years, including Carys Dorritt benefiting from being mentored through our Mentoring Programme, and receiving support from our Business Support Team to grow the business.
Join us for an event dedicated to purpose-driven leadership and the women shaping the future
Launching during Women in Construction Week (March 3rd-7th) reflects the company’s belief that diverse perspectives - including women returning to senior roles - can drive meaningful innovation across the built environment.
This latest example of a women-powered business leading the way comes in the build-up to International Women's Day, which BBF is marking with an event held in partnership with the Institute of Directors on March 10th.
The event will be opened by Cllr Muryel Boulay, Mayor of Marlow, with keynote speeches from Sally Fennemore MBE, President & Founding Member of Women in Enterprise MK, and Angela Spang, award‑winning entrepreneur, innovator, and founder of June Medical.
There will also be a panel discussion featuring Dr Jenny Simnett - IoD South Bucks Ambassador & Deputy Mayor of Marlow; Lavanya Balaji - COO, entrepreneur & business leader; Dr. I. Stephanie Boyce (Hon. Causa) CBE FKC, Former President of the Law Society of England and Wales; Laurie Percival – CEO & Mentor; and Helen Shellabear – Managing Director, Shellwin Real Estate.
