Start-Up Idea of the Year grant

Enterprise Nation is collaborating with Monzo to provide financial support to help people develop their next business idea, game-changing new product or service, or growth strategy. 

Three small businesses will receive cash grants: £10,000 for first place, £8,000 for second, and £7,000 for third.

Applications are open. Submit by 28th February 2025.

Innovate UK funding opportunities

Innovation loans from Innovate UK

Innovate UK is offering up to £25 million in loans to micro, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). Innovate UK innovation loans are for highly innovative late stage research and development (R&D) projects with the best potential for the future. Businesses can apply for loans for innovative projects with strong commercial potential to significantly improve the UK economy.

Contracts for Innovation: Accessible Information on Coaches

Organisations can apply for a share of up to £680,000 to develop an affordable, user friendly hardware and software solution which provides accessible audio visual information on coaches.

Life Sciences Innovative Manufacturing Fund

This capital grants fund aims to build resilience for future health emergencies and capitalise on the UK’s world-leading R&D capabilities by investing in projects that help increase UK health resilience, such as the manufacture of human medicines and medical technology (including diagnostics, and MedTech products). This is a new fund from previous UK Government Life Sciences manufacturing funds.

Applications will undergo assessment in quarterly rounds until all the funding has been allocated:

• Round 1 closed on 29th November 2024
• Round 2 opened on 1st February 2025 and closes on 28th February 2025
• Round 3 opens on 1st May 2025 and closes on 30th May 2025
• Round 4 opens on 1st August 2025 and closes on 29th August 2025

Funding for net zero R&D

Apply for a share of up to £25 million for late stage R&D projects that help accelerate the UK transition to zero emission vehicles and towards a net zero automotive future.

India-UK Collaborative R&D for industrial sustainability

UK-registered organisations can apply for a share of up to £2 million for innovative proposals developed with India. You must collaborate with at least one Indian business applying under the equivalent Technology Development Board programme.
