B P Collins: Bucks Business Awards sponsor

The Buckinghamshire Business Awards 2024 are open for entries, with the closing date for submissions on May 20th.

In the run-up to the entry deadline, we are speaking to each of our brilliant Business Awards Sponsors to hear why they are involved with the awards - and what their message is to any business thinking of entering (which you can do right here!).

B P Collins - sponsors of the Enterprising Business of the Year Award

We got the thoughts of Harry Rai-Dhillon, Business Development Manager at B P Collins, a multi-award winning solicitors firm founded in 1966 that offers legal advice for individuals, families and businesses.

What do the Buckinghamshire Business Awards mean to B P Collins?

"Buckinghamshire is bursting with talent, innovation, and creativity, which the awards, quite rightly, celebrate. But I would argue it does more than that. The awards, along with the work of Buckinghamshire Business First, are helping to prevent a brain drain to London by consistently highlighting that there is a real hive of commercial activity right here in this brilliant county – from Buckingham to Marlow - where you can be successful, you can be an entrepreneur and you can attract the brightest minds to help grow your business."

What impressed and inspired you most about last year’s winners, StaffHost Digital, and the runners-up, Elite HNW and Seymour Taylor?

"The finalists and winner last year really impressed us, particularly with their commercial aptitude, which is imperative in the competitive, crowded sectors they operate in. Their drive to succeed and creativity were compelling, and it was great to see how well they were embracing the latest technology to help make their customers' and employees’ lives easier, and to help solve problems."

You are also a Stakeholder member of Buckinghamshire Business First. Does this, and your awards sponsorship, make you feel more closely connected to the local business community?

"B P Collins advises businesses every day and our technical knowledge must always be paired with commercial awareness. Understanding our clients’ businesses and the industries they operate in ensures our legal advice is in line with helping them to meet their goals. Being commercially aware also helps us to appreciate the risks our clients could be facing and enables us to advise them accordingly. Being a member of Buckinghamshire Business First and meeting the businesses shortlisted during the judging process certainly helps to increase this awareness and be more connected to the local business community.

"On a macro level, B P Collins’ teams welcome the opportunity to engage with Buckinghamshire Business First’s business community to help create an environment that encourages growth and innovation to ensure the county remains a desirable place to live, work and invest in."

What would you say to anyone that is thinking of entering the Enterprising Business of the Year Award?

"B P Collins’ teams won several awards in 2023, including Corporate Law Firm of the Year, Property Law Firm of the Year, and Excellence in Customer Service, so we can appreciate the benefits of winning an award as prestigious as this.

"Creating a submission will, at the very least, help entrants to gain clarity on what exactly they have achieved over the past year and provide an opportunity to give themselves and their team a pat on the back for the milestones they have reached and the targets they have smashed.

"If an entrant is shortlisted or becomes the winner, it will undoubtedly boost morale and enhance their reputation amongst customers, new recruits and within their sector. Not bad at all, considering it doesn’t take long to complete the application."
