If you watch the 2012 Olympic Games this summer you will see one Buckinghamshire Business First member feature prominently; not in the 100 metres or the pole vault, but in the furniture supplied to the BBC for their coverage.
Aylesbury-based Lund Halsey Console Systems will provide the BBC with their temporary TV control desks for the duration of the Games - just one example of this ever growing business, flourishing and making the most of these times.
According to the company’s owner and managing director, Chris Lund this contract has provided a boost to employee morale and not just profits, “It does give you a certain feeling, when you see your work. We get guys coming into work saying ‘I saw my desk on telly.’ It’s a nice feeling.”
With a turnover of £5 million and a trophy cabinet boasting the Queen’s Award for Export, Lund Halsey is expanding globally to, among other places, the Middle East. But the company’s feet are very much on the ground, with a notable dedication to customer care and producing quality products, something Mr Lund puts down to the “great workforce” of skilled and dedicated employees.
Throw in a more competitive version of the Olympic ethos – “There is no such thing as second best” - and it’s no wonder the company will form the backdrop to the biggest event of the year.
