Bosch & ComputerXplorers to bring hands-on technology education to children's summer camps

A Buckinghamshire-based children’s technology education provider is set to bring cutting-edge innovation into the hands of local children this summer, thanks to sponsorship from Bosch UK & Ireland.

This summer, ComputerXplorers South Buckinghamshire will be hosting its Summer Tech Camp in Beaconsfield over three weeks, giving children aged 7–14 the opportunity to spend their holidays designing games, building robots, creating films, exploring artificial intelligence and tackling hands-on engineering challenges - all while having fun doing it.

Supported by sponsorship from Bosch UK & Ireland, the programme has been designed to encourage children move beyond passive screen time and become creators, inventors and problem-solvers through a unique mix of technology, creativity and real-world inspiration.

A major feature of this year's Summer Tech Camp is dedicated to Space, inspired by Buckinghamshire's growing role within the UK space sector and new Space Centre at Westcott. Across two specialist Space Days, children will explore space missions, astronaut challenges and the technologies helping shape the future of space exploration. Sessions will include contributions from experienced space educator Mark Lawrenson, helping bring the exciting world of space technology to life for young learners.

The summer programme also takes inspiration from Buckinghamshire's thriving creative industries. Children will create stop-motion films, animations and digital media projects influenced by the work taking place at Pinewood Studios and Marlow's growing creative technology ecosystem, while also exploring coding, robotics, engineering, artificial intelligence, 3D design and game creation.

David Reilly, Managing Director of ComputerXplorers South Buckinghamshire, believes local industry has an important role to play in inspiring young people. "Many children spend hours consuming technology, but very few get the opportunity to create with it. Our goal is to help children build confidence through making, designing, experimenting and solving problems. Buckinghamshire is home to world-class organisations in film, engineering, manufacturing and space technology. We want local children to understand that these industries exist on their doorstep and that one day they could be part of them."

Thanks to Bosch's sponsorship, children attending the camp will gain access to LEGO Tech Build Kits, micro and 3D printing technology, giving them even more opportunities to design, build and bring their ideas to life through practical engineering and technology projects.

Tom Callow, Head of Corporate Communications and Governmental Affairs for Bosch UK & Ireland, said: “As a company embracing the latest digital and software-based technologies to create our products and services, we are equally keen to make these technologies accessible to young people. We are pleased to be sponsoring ComputerXplorers South Buckinghamshire to help inspire the next generation and showcase what’s possible.”

The Summer Tech Camp has been designed to be fun, inclusive and beginner-friendly, with no previous coding or technical experience required. Alongside digital skills, children develop creativity, teamwork, resilience, communication and confidence through hands-on projects and collaborative challenges.

For parents, it offers something increasingly valuable: a chance for children to spend less time scrolling and more time creating.

Do you have or know children who would enjoy this opportunity?

With limited places available, parents and carers are encouraged to book children on early.

Summer Tech Clubs will take place in Beaconsfield across three weeks. The days run from 8:30am – 3pm. The cost is £55 per day or £249 for the full week.
