Bosch – sponsors of the Digital Innovation Award
Words from Eman Martin-Vignerte, Head of External Affairs, Governmental and Political Relations, Bosch
What does it mean to Bosch to be involved with the Buckinghamshire Business Awards?
Although we are a global company, Buckinghamshire is our UK home and we are very much rooted in the local business community. There is a huge amount of talent and innovation on our doorstep and it’s very important to recognise and nurture this. The Buckinghamshire Business Awards are a great way of showcasing some of the exciting things that are happening in the county.
Why did you want to sponsor the Digital Innovation Award in particular?
Digital innovation is extremely important to us as it is increasingly at the heart of everything that we do as a business. The connectivity revolution is changing everything, from mobility to housing and the way we work. Bosch is at the heart of this, and we want to do everything we can to encourage other innovative businesses to come forward with the solutions that will change people’s lives for the better. It’s vital to celebrate the great work that’s taking place in Buckinghamshire.
What characteristics stand out amongst the finalists in your category?
We have an impressive range of finalists this year. I think what stands out is the passion and drive they exhibit. It’s hugely encouraging, not only for business here, but also for the country as a whole.
Will Bosch be represented at the awards ceremony on October 9th? What are you looking forward to about the evening?
We will, and very much looking forward to it! I always find it very encouraging to see how strong and vibrant the Buckinghamshire business community is.
Chandler Garvey – sponsors of the Corporate Social Responsibility Award
Words from the team at Chandler Garvey
What does it mean to Chandler Garvey to be involved with the Buckinghamshire Business Awards?
We are passionate about the success of businesses in Buckinghamshire and excited to be sponsoring the CSR Category. This is only the second year that this category has featured in the awards, but it is becoming integral to the success of businesses, from the staff to the local community.
Why did you want to sponsor the Corporate Social Responsibility Award in particular?
Chandler Garvey were awarded a Silver CSR Accreditation with the CSRA last year and more recently, a Gold Award at the International CSR Excellence Awards. We wanted to be involved with rewarding local businesses that are going above and beyond, sometimes unconsciously, to do good for their staff and community that they work in. It is becoming more important for a business to be able to offer its employees a balanced working environment, as well as give back.
What characteristics stand out amongst the finalists in your category?
The finalists have much to offer and they are all ambassadors for CSR and are looking to continually strive to help others inside and outside of their business. They all have very different approaches, but are equally as effective and passionate about CSR.
Will Chandler Garvey be represented at the awards ceremony on October 9th?
We will definitely be at the awards, presenting the award to the winner of the category. We look forward to seeing many familiar faces and meeting new members.
Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils – sponsors of the Best in Chiltern and South Bucks Districts Award
Words from Donna Wilkinson, Principal Economic Development Officer, Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils
What does it mean to Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils to be involved with the Buckinghamshire Business Awards?
Once again, we are proud to sponsor the Best in Chiltern and South Bucks Districts Award. The Buckinghamshire Business Awards offer an opportunity for us to highlight and celebrate the fantastic businesses we have in Chiltern and South Bucks. The success of our local economy is dependent upon these businesses and the employment, income and growth they support. Not only that but our businesses provide the goods and services that our residents need and want, with many also giving back to the community through links with charities, engagement with schools and local procurement. As councils, we want to work with our local businesses to aid their growth and success and our support for this award is just one of the ways for us to demonstrate our commitment to doing so.
How would you characterise the business community in Chiltern and South Bucks? What are its strengths?
Chiltern and South Bucks are extremely entrepreneurial districts. We have some of the highest business start-up rates in the country, which has helped to create a diverse local economy. The districts have particular strengths in sectors including creative and cultural and life sciences. And with a concentration of employment within knowledge-intensive occupations and businesses, productivity is high across Chiltern and South Bucks.
What characteristics stand out amongst the finalists in your category?
Selecting our finalists was not easy, but each demonstrated ambition, an in-depth knowledge of their sector and a real passion for their business and what they do. What was particularly encouraging for us was that our finalists come from very different sectors, but each has the interests of their customers at their core.
In a sector that often struggles with recruitment and retention, Ashridge Home Care have introduced measures to develop and retain their staff, which has contributed to excellent feedback from clients and a good rating from the Care Quality Commission. Melford Technologies are developing and manufacturing some extremely innovative products for businesses around the globe. And Walk This Way Podiatry are rapidly growing, with their commitment to exceeding their customers’ expectations helping them to attract clients from a wide area.
Will Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils be represented at the awards ceremony? What are you looking forward to about the evening?
We are very much looking forward to attending the awards ceremony. It will be great to catch up with the Best in Chiltern and South Bucks Districts finalists again, as well as our businesses who have made it through to the finals in the other award categories. We are particularly looking forward to finding out more about all the finalists and to being part of an evening that celebrates and recognises the talents, commitment and dedication of Buckinghamshire businesses, their owners and employees.
Heathrow - sponsors of the International Trade and Export Award
Words from Rob Gray, Director - Community & Stakeholder Engagement, Heathrow
What does it mean to Heathrow to be involved with the Buckinghamshire Business Awards?
Heathrow is proud to sponsor the Buckinghamshire Business Awards. Expanding Heathrow will bring significant economic benefits to the local area, as well as the country as a whole. Through the work we are doing to support skills and employment growth, and improve access to business opportunities at the airport, Buckinghamshire businesses will play a key part in this success.

Heathrow is the UK’s only hub airport, and is the UK’s largest port by value for trade outside of the EU. Our expansion plans mean adding dozens of new long haul routes and a doubling of cargo capacity, so our role as an international gateway can grow further still and support British businesses. We will continue to work with our partners to ensure that businesses of all sizes can make the most of business opportunities, for example through our 'World of Opportunity' programme which supports small businesses to export through grants for trade missions and other activities.
What characteristics stand out amongst the finalists in your category?
The key characteristics which stand out amongst the finalists are their focus on the needs of the customer and an ability to respond innovatively to business challenges.
Will Heathrow be represented at the awards ceremony on October 9th?
Heathrow will be present at the event and is looking forward to meeting the finalists for the International Trade and Export category, as well as all the other finalists who play a key part in supporting Buckinghamshire and its growth.
