What does it mean to Buckinghamshire New University to be involved with the Buckinghamshire Business Awards?

“Being a part of the Buckinghamshire Business Awards highlights our role as a civic anchor institution within the region. We would like it to signal to businesses that we are open for business and we want to work with you.”

Why did you want to sponsor the New Business of the Year category in particular?

“We wanted to sponsor this category because over the past three years we have worked hard to develop accelerator programmes and incubation space to help support businesses. New businesses are the engine to the economy and we want to help accelerate their growth.”

How crucial is it to support and recognise new businesses?

“It is critical to help support new businesses because they will help us solve the monumental challenges the world is facing today. Whether it’s recovering from the pandemic or combating climate change, innovation will help navigate us through these choppy waters and new businesses are the catalyst for this change.”

How passionate is Buckinghamshire New University about supporting entrepreneurism?

“We are absolutely committed to helping build new businesses. Whether it is supporting entrepreneurism with our students and graduates or new ventures within Buckinghamshire, the university has dedicated both money and expertise to building business. We have invested in new innovation spaces as well as start-up expertise for businesses, and we are involved in two business accelerator programmes - Bucks HSC Ventures and the MedTech SuperConnector - to help support start-up success.”
