Employer Skills Survey 2026 to Inform Buckinghamshire's Skills Priorities

The Employer Skills Survey (ESS) is a randomised telephone survey of 60,000 businesses across the UK, run by Skills England.

The aim of the survey is to understand the skills challenges employers face throughout the UK, and is a vital for informing and monitoring the delivery of the education and training policy, including the Buckinghamshire Local Skills Improvement Plan 2026.

We would encourage any business contacted as part of the Employer Skills Survey to respond, to ensure the Local Skills Improvement Plan is backed by strong evidence of where businesses are experiencing skills challenges, and where support should best be targeted. Fieldwork for the survey is running between June 2026 and January 2027 by IFF Research on behalf of Skills England and the Department for Education, the Scottish Government, the Welsh Government, and the Department for the Economy in Northern Ireland.
