Focusing on workforce skills pays off for employers

Thank you to those who joined us for our highly-anticipated Focus on Workforce Skills event on March 22nd.

A packed-out Building 4000 at Westcott Venture Park was a great setting for a great day of inspiration centred around an organisation’s greatest asset – their people. As always, we would love your feedback on the event, so please take a moment to let us know about your experience.

A big thank you to Sarah Stevens, Director of SYLO Beyond HR, for her fantastic speech on how employers can master recruitment, training, mentoring and creating a culture that embraces difference. A copy of Sarah's presentation slides can be found here >

A big thank you to our panel who shared their knowledge and experience with the room - Mark Denton, Managing Director of Zenopa Recruitment; Carline Herman, Head of HR at Lunaz Group; and Andreas Hohmann, Managing Director of Total Carbide.

So, what’s next?

  • Keep the momentum going with an event all about hiring apprentices! This can help businesses big and small solve recruitment and staffing issues and build value into their organisation. Learn more at our free Demystifying Apprenticeships workshop on April 19th. Book here >
  • We also invite you to take part in the latest Buckinghamshire Business Barometer survey, which tracks local business confidence and performance. We hope to see you at another event soon!

The Focus on Workforce Skills event was supported by Skill Up Bucks, a programme designed to help SME businesses in Buckinghamshire identify and nurture future talent by creating opportunities for people aged 17+ to meet and interact with employers. The programme is funded by the European Social Fund and the Department for Work and Pensions.
