Going for Growth - How one local company did just that

High Wycombe based Bleeding Edge Solutions Ltd (BES) offer highly skilled consultancy services, primarily on database, warehouse and business intelligence (BI) projects including compliance, analytics, data management and capability management.

The directors knew that the business needed to develop and grow and that it would benefit from a review of branding, sales & marketing, profitability and business development.  

Christine Schneider, Director, advised: “We knew that we had ambitious plans to grow but were not sure how best to proceed. We wanted to develop a recruitment arm to support the consultancy division but had no business plans or financials in place to go forward. All that changed when our business bank manager introduced us to Buckinghamshire Business First”.

A meeting was arranged with the Business Support team at BBF.  After an initial discussion, the company was identified as being an ideal candidate for Growth Accelerator (GA). The scheme is part of the government backed Business Growth Service that helps eligible and suitable business in the UK achieve their growth potential.

The Business Manager at GA, Helen Turton established growth aims and barriers with Nael Mahfouz, Director, BES. Helen was able to map out a bespoke coaching programme for the company with GA approved Growth Experts with applicable skills and sector backgrounds. Nael was put in contact with a number of GrowthAccelerator Growth Experts and met with them at a “no obligation” meeting to determine which Expert was the best fit to work with him. Buckinghamshire Business First was able to truly facilitate these meetings with their free meeting room facility.

Nael has chosen his Growth Expert and his coaching to overcome the business’s growth barriers is completed. The growth coaching covered areas such as strategic planning, developing a 3 year strategy and a 12 month breakthrough game plan.

Christine continues:” We were provided with access to high class expertise. We are now able to identify weaknesses and coach and mentor key personnel within the organisation to create the support model we need, the paradigms we must adopt and the processes we must have in order to grow and sustain that growth. Increasing turnover and reducing variance are real bottom line benefits of this programme'.
