The Buckinghamshire Business Barometer is our bi-annual survey that takes a temperature check of what business feels like at the coalface.
As part of our latest Buckinghamshire Business Barometer, we’re gathering insight on how businesses are performing - and crucially, the real-world impact of the National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage, the impact of the Middle East conflict on your costs, and your innovation activity and plans.
Your perspective helps shape how we represent Buckinghamshire businesses in conversations with government and key stakeholders. This time, your input will also inform our response to the Low Pay Commission consultation which is gathering evidence to set minimum wage rates for April 2027.
We want to ensure your experience is reflected - whether that’s around cost pressures, recruitment, or wider operational impact.
Have your say by 18th June to ensure your views are included in our local and national briefings.

Why do we need businesses to tell us how they are doing?
An important part of our work here at Buckinghamshire Business First is advocating on behalf of our business community in discussions with policymakers.
Your input is crucial in helping us understand the challenges and opportunities facing local businesses day in, day out. The more real-life examples we have, the greater impact we can make in helping policymakers understand what the needs of our business community are.
What impact will your response have?
Please be assured that your response does not go into a vacuum - it helps us to evidence-base our discussions with local and national organisations who can remove barriers to growth and bring about change.
Buckinghamshire Business First feeds business's experiences into lots of consultations, and we have first-hand examples of positive change occurring directly off the back of what our local businesses have told us. Your feedback will help us represent the Buckinghamshire business community in discussions with the government and other stakeholders, ensuring the local business voice is heard loud and clear.
Why else should you participate?
As a thank you, you’ll also be entered into a draw for a complementary place at our next exclusive Ambassadors’ Lunch, which brings together senior leaders from across Buckinghamshire to connect and explore shared opportunities.
