Heart of Bucks simplifies process for corporates giving to local causes

Businesses may want to give back to their local community but don't have the resources to set up their own scheme or fund. They may not know where charitable donations are needed the most. This is where Heart of Bucks steps in. This new fund has been established to make charitable giving for businesses straightforward, simple and effective.

"I’m delighted to have the support of Ashridge Group, BP Collins, Buckinghamshire Building Society, Chandler Garvey, and Passageways in establishing this charitable fund for Buckinghamshire. Caring businesses like these are not only crucial to the county’s economic success and prosperity, but their support is vital for the wellbeing of so many of our residents through charitable activities”. – Henry Allmand, CEO of Heart of Bucks

The new Community Investor Fund enables businesses to support their community, safe in the knowledge that Heart of Bucks understands local needs and can make the most of the funds and their impact throughout Bucks.

When a business puts a sum of money into the Community Investor Fund, they can help the local community both immediately and in the future. The total sum is divided into money that can be used for immediate charitable grants so that a positive impact is made soon after a contribution. The remainder is invested and will be used to support organisations, community groups and charities in the county that need help long term.

This has been a hugely challenging time for Bucks-based not-for-profit organisations, who have been working harder than ever before to support the vulnerable people in our county throughout COVID-19. Now, more than ever, they need help – your help! And Heart of Bucks is now able to facilitate the distribution of the generous contributions made by the business community through the new Community Investor Fund.

Here’s what the founding local businesses have said about the fund:

“The Buckinghamshire Community Investor Fund provides an excellent opportunity for businesses to demonstrate their support of local projects and positively impact the community and social fabric”. – Mark Walker, Ashridge Group

“B P Collins has supported Heart of Bucks for six years. Over the course of that time we have donated £50,000 to 20 charities in Buckinghamshire that have needed our support in order to make a positive social impact, improve lives and create a more sustainable environment for the communities that we have worked for over the past 54 years.

Becoming a founding member of the Heart of Bucks Community Investor Fund will take our commitment to helping the county to another level. We look forward to making a difference”. - Lucy Wood, BP Collins

“We are delighted to support this new fund as a founder member, working with other local businesses, through Heart of Bucks, to support voluntary and not-for-profit organisations in our area to continue to do great work in these most difficult times”. – Gerard O’Keeffe, Buckinghamshire Building Society

“Chandler Garvey are committed to supporting the local community.  Particularly at this most difficult time, it is important for us to engage and work closely with the sector through our partners at Heart of Bucks”. – Michael Garvey, Chandler Garvey
