Innovate UK innovation loans

Micro, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) can apply for loans for innovative late stage research and development (R&D) projects with strong commercial potential to significantly improve the UK economy.

Projects must lead to innovative new products, processes or services that are significantly ahead of others currently available, or propose an innovative use of existing products, processes or services. It can also involve a new or innovative business model.

Deadline to apply: Wednesday 6th March 2024 at 11:00am.

Creative Catalyst 2024

Micro or small businesses in the creative industries sector can apply for funding of up to £50,000 and support to grow their business

The aim of this Innovate UK competition is to support the growth of untapped innovative businesses and to increase investment in creative talent through a package of targeted and continuous support to develop projects that will propel business growth plans.

Proposals must have an innovation that clearly demonstrates benefit to the creative industries sector and the wider UK economy.

Deadline to apply: Wednesday 6th March 2024 at 11:00am.

Funded access to Catapults and RTOs to support growth & scaling

Innovative, ambitious businesses can benefit from the facilities and expertise provided by Catapults and Research & Technology Organisations (RTOs) through Innovate UK EDGE.

RTOs are specialised not-for-profit knowledge organisations dedicated to the development and transfer of science and technology to the benefit of the economy and society, while the Catapult network of technology and innovation centres established by Innovate UK supports businesses to transform great ideas into valuable products and services.

Grants can help businesses test new product ideas; gain advice on regulatory and government processes; access networks of customers, services and funders; receive sector-specific expert advice and support and technical expertise; identify opportunities for R&D, collaboration, and partnership building; and receive support to commercialise their innovation, including improving efficiency, making their business operations more sustainable, or investigating market gaps.

Industry Impact Fund

The Industry Impact Fund is designed to support UK industry through access to Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) facilities and scientific expertise.

STFC operates the UK national facilities offering X-rays, neutrons and lasers alongside high performance computing (modelling, artificial intelligence, machine learning), enabling the private sector to utilise the expertise and specialist technology to generate industrial and societal impact.

This fund is seeking applications with interests in the following areas:

  • energy
  • net zero
  • security and defence
  • health

Innovate UK Investor Partnerships

Businesses can apply for grant funding alongside private investment from selected investor partners.

To apply, your organisation must have been invited to apply by an investor from Innovate UK's pool of selected investor partners.
