Launch of new Midsomer discovery trail in Marlow

A new local discovery trail based on locations used in the popular TV series Midsomer Murders in and around Marlow has just been launched.

The 17-mile trail starts in Marlow and winds its way through some beautiful countryside and great locations including Frieth, Lane End, Fingest and Hambleden. Along the way are some great places to stop and enjoy food and drink from local independent businesses like Laceys Farm (Lane End) and Chiltern Valley Winery (Hambleden).

The trail has been put together by Visit Buckinghamshire and Wycombe District Council to encourage visitors and local people to explore the delights of our local area and discover some hidden gems.

Lucy Dowson, Tourism Development Manager for Visit Buckinghamshire, said: “Walking the trail you will very quickly find yourself immersed in scenes from Midsomer Murders! A vast number of locations in Buckinghamshire have been used in Midsomer Murders episodes, and this self-guided tour will not only let you walk in the footsteps of Inspector Barnaby himself, but will give you a real taste for what Buckinghamshire has to offer.”

Lucy added: “Tourism initiatives like this not only add to the feel good factor of a place, but also play an important part in supporting local businesses by bringing new customers in. It’s just one way we are working to enhance people’s experience of our local area and to support local enterprise and entrepreneurs.”
