Mix96 & Chiltern Brewery join forces in special year

Chiltern Brewery will brew a special beer which a member of the public will name in honour of Mix96’s 20th anniversary.

Mix96 invited Chiltern Brewery, the oldest independent brewery in Buckinghamshire, to create their anniversary beer,  as part of the activities to celebrate  being on air for 20 years. A ‘Name the Beer’ competition has also been launched in order to provide the new brew with a fitting name.

“It’s great to be working with Chiltern Brewery to create the brand new Mix96 beer. I can’t think of a better way of celebrating 20 years of broadcasting than raising a glass of our own brew” said Max Hailey, Managing Director of Mix96.

The beer will be available throughout April in pubs around the region and at the Chiltern Brewery Shop. And to make the beer even more special - 5p from every pint sold will be donated to Mix96’s chosen charity - St Tiggywinkles in Haddenham.

Tom Jenkinson, Head Brewer at The Chiltern Brewery said “We are thrilled to be brewing this beer for Mix96, to celebrate 20 years on air and look forward to hearing all the ideas for a fitting name. Once the winner is decided the name of the beer will appear on all of the pump clips and a special design will be made up for it. It is a great opportunity for some fun whilst supporting all the fantastic work at St Tiggywinkles.”

The ‘Name the Beer’ competition is a great chance for a member of the public to add their spin to the celebrations. The person with the winning name will win a brewery tour for two at the Chiltern Brewery, plus a VIP invite to the official launch of the beer at The King’s Head on April 1. They will also be interviewed live on Mix96.

So,  if you have a good name for the beer, go to the Mix96 website to enter. You have until midday on February 21 to enter. The winner will be announced on the breakfast show on February 24.
