Monodraught receives King’s Award for innovation in low-energy ventilation technology

Monodraught has been awarded The King’s Award for Enterprise 2026 in the Innovation category for its HVR Zero APX system, a carbon-neutral, low-energy hybrid ventilation solution designed to improve indoor air quality while reducing energy demand.

As building operators face increasing pressure to reduce energy consumption, improve indoor environments and meet evolving regulatory standards, demand is growing for solutions that can deliver performance without complexity. HVR Zero APX responds to this through an integrated approach combining sensor technology, heat recovery and data-led optimisation, enabling real-time control of indoor conditions.

Developed and manufactured in the UK, the system incorporates patented design elements and supports a balanced approach to ventilation, heating and cooling through continuous environmental adjustment.

On Tuesday 14th April 2026, Monodraught was honoured to welcome His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester to its UK headquarters. During the visit, His Royal Highness toured the facilities, met with members of the team and was introduced to the company’s latest developments, including the HVR Zero APX system. Senior representatives from parent company Genuit Group were also in attendance.

The visit also marked the opening of Monodraught’s Kengaku line, a new production and demonstration facility designed to provide a clear view of how its systems are designed, tested and brought into operation.

The King’s Awards for Enterprise are among the UK’s most prestigious business awards, recognising achievement in innovation, international trade, sustainable development and social mobility. The Innovation category recognises products and technologies that demonstrate measurable commercial success and sector impact.

Andrew McCubbin, Managing Director of Monodraught, said: “We are pleased to receive The King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation. It reflects the work conducted across the business to develop practical solutions that address energy use and indoor air quality in buildings. As expectations around building performance continue to evolve, there is a growing need for systems that can respond dynamically to changing conditions. HVR Zero APX has been developed with this in mind, combining performance, efficiency and usability in a single solution.”
